Dry running severely damages pumps, resulting in costly customer repairs. The stator protection device consists of a Thermocouple (mounted in the stator), a Temperature Sensor and a Temperature Controller. If the stator temperature rises above a specified cut-off point which is set on the controller, an optical or acoustic signal is indicated on the controller display. The controller can also be set to switch the pump off immediately.
