Allows Calls Via Standard Telephone Sets: New Release of the Praesideo Public Address and Emergency Sound System from Bosch

o New software release 3.2 offers interface for PC-telephone and standard PABX telephone equipment
o Enhanced communication abilities allow cost-effective solutions meeting specific requirements

Bosch Security Systems is introducing a new release of its Praesideo Software offering enhanced telephone connection possibilities. Software Release 3.2 features a new PC Telephone Interface available as a licensable option that allows telephone calls to be made over a Praesideo Public Address System via standard VoIP (Voice over IP) telephone sets. With the addition of an industry standard call routing gateway, the interface also allows standard PABX (Private Automatic Branch Exchange) telephone equipment to make calls over the Praesideo System.

The new features embodied in Release 3.2 significantly enhance the flexibility of the system, providing customers with more opportunities to develop cost-effective solutions meeting their specific requirements. Via the new PC Telephone Interface it is possible to control medium and large size Praesideo Systems from a telephone set by making prerecorded or live announcements. Any VoIP or traditional POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) telephone can be customized for caller identification, predefined call selection, zone and/or zone group selection and live speech. A customizable voice response menu is also available to guide the caller in entering the data required to make a call. It is also possible to program the Telephone Keypad through the PC Telephone Interface to function as a user interface.

The new PC Telephone Interface runs as a client of the Bosch PC Call Server in the same way as the recently introduced Praesideo PC Call Station. The PC Call Server allows single as well as multiple Praesideo Systems to be controlled over TCP/IP.
