EXTON, PA... ifm efector's new ferrous-only proximity switch features an innovative multi-coil design that provides greater stability and the longest sensing ranges in the market today. The new switch, part of the efector-m metalworking product line, offers true ferrous-only sensing for aluminum machining applications. ifm efector's new multi-coil sensing technology features improved chip immunity that eliminates false triggers.
The durable stainless steel sensing face prevents aluminum chips from adhering to and embedding in the face of the switch. The switch can reliably sense steel targets while ignoring all other metals. Tested to assure compatibility with oils and coolants used in machining applications, the ferrous-only switch has a zero-leak, IP68 protection rating.
Currently the longest sensing ranges available for ferrous-only proximity switches, the 12mm diameter switch has a 3mm flush-mount sensing range, and the 18mm diameter switch has a 5mm flush-mount sensing range.
