Omron's E2A Modular Proximity Sensors Feature Extended Sensing Ranges, Thicker Barrels and One-Piece Construction
SCHAUMBURG, IL (February 23, 2004)-Omron Electronics LLC has introduced a new line of modular extended range proximity sensors that offer 1.5 to 2.0 times the sensing distance of standard sensing range proximity sensors. The extended range allows users to mount proximity sensors further away from tooling and work pieces, eliminating collisions and subsequent damage to sensors. The new E2A sensor is available in more than 220 models, allowing users to choose the exact configuration they need. Modular construction enables Omron to assemble sensors to meet demand, achieving effective cost containment. Sensors come in M8, M12, M18 and M30 sizes in shielded or unshielded construction, NPN or PNP output, a range of barrel sizes and materials, and a choice of wiring options. Sensing distances range from 2.0mm to 30mm.
The E2A sensor's thicker housing minimizes damage from over-torquing during installation, and fully vacuum-potted construction eliminates air pockets that can cause thermal, moisture or vibration failure. Built-in wrench flats and LED operation indicators make the sensors easier to install and maintain.
The E2A proximity sensor is ideal for installation in robotic pick-and-place equipment in the automotive and packaging industries, as well as in material handling systems, metal working equipment and automated machinery.
