Proximity Sensors have Ex approval.

Press Release Summary:

Models IM 08, IM 12, and IH 06 inductive proximity sensors have shortened shape, but retain high switching distances. They conform to NAMUR and may be used in Explosion Protection Zone 1. Units detect metallic objects while providing protection against vibration, shock, dust, dirt, and humidity. They come in shielded and non-shielded versions, with max sensing ranges of 15 mm and 60 mm, respectively. Housings are ABS plastic, brass, and stainless steel.

Introducing Inductive Proximity Sensors with Ex-approval and New Advanced Short Body Sensors

Recently, the SICK inductive proximity line has expanded with the introduction of the advanced short body sensors. These sensors have a shortened shape, but retain high switching distances and frequencies. The new IM 08, IM 12 and IH 06 inductive proximity sensors meet the demands of handling systems, machine tools and many other applications.

Ex-protected versions of inductive proximity sensors from the IM 08, IM 12 and IM 30 series are now available. These sensors conform to NAMUR, may be used in Explosion Protection Zone 1.

Inductive proximity sensors, widely used throughout industry, are designed to detect metallic objects. Because their advanced design includes no moving parts or contacts and full encapsulation, this series functions without wear, providing low maintenance, reliability, and excellent protection against
vibration, shock, dust, dirt and humidity. Therefore, the inductive proximity line is ideal for harsh environments. Available with a host of options, SICK inductive proximity sensors come in shielded and non-shielded versions with shielded maximum sensing ranges to 15 mm and non-shielded ranges to 60 mm. Housings in durable ABS plastic, brass and stainless steel come in threaded cylinder, smooth barrel or cubical shapes to meet almost any application need.

SICK's large selection of standard and advanced inductive proximity sensors are available to handle almost any application, including position polling and detection, transport monitoring, pulse counting, speed monitoring and direction detection.

With its industrial proximity sensor line, SICK, Inc. is the only U.S. manufacturer to offer a complete range of photoelectric (including luminescence, color, contrast and distance sensors) and proximity sensors. SICK's extensive line includes inductive proximity, capacitive proximity, magnetic proximity and magnetic cylinder sensors featuring non-contact operation and high reliability. Now, all SICK industrial proximity sensors feature a lifetime warranty. SICK's 50 years of innovation in photoelectric sensors, combined with this comprehensive proximity line, leave very few applications beyond SICK's capabilities.
