Proximity Sensor offers field programmable option.

Press Release Summary:

Measuring 33.0 x 7.62 x 19.05 mm, ultrasonic SUPERPROX® SM300FP features sensing range from 6.35-102 mm and requires no adjustments to compensate for different materials or colors. Unit can be programmed in field or fixed from factory for tamper-proof sensing. Rated NEMA 4X and IP67, 12-24 Vdc sensor resists most acids and bases, is compatible with many chemicals and cleaning solutions, and is unaffected by magnetic fields and transient voltage.

Original Press Release:

Extended-Range, Ultrasonic Proximity Sensor Available with Field Programmable Option

October 18, 2004 - Dayton, OH - Hyde Park Electronics LLC, the world leader in ultrasonic sensing technology, continues to provide superior ultrasonic sensing technology with the SUPERPROX® SM300FP. This proximity sensor offers a combination of a small, 33.0 mm by 7.62 mm by 19.05 mm (1.3" by 0.3" by 0.75") flat-profile housing and sensing ranges from 6.35 mm (0.25") to 102 mm (4.00")-12 times farther than other proximity sensors of this size.

In contrast with other proximity sensing technologies, the SM300 ultrasonic sensor requires no adjustments to compensate for different materials or colors. Additionally, advanced technology enables the 12 to 24 VDC sensors to be field programmable or fixed field from the factory for tamper-proof sensing.

The field programmable models are used in conjunction with a configuration package, which includes SUPERPROX+(TM) configuration software and configuration interface, allowing the user window setting capability. The user can reprogram these sensors in the field until the program is precisely configured for the application, saving time and money.

With protection ratings of NEMA4X and IP67, the CE-certified SM300FP sensor resists most acids and bases and is compatible with many chemicals, cleaning solutions and most products encountered in harsh environments. The sensor is also unaffected by magnetic fields and transient voltage.
