Baumer Electric Introduces High Precision, Dual Programmable Analog Inductive Proximity Sensor

Southington, CT -- April 20, 2005 Baumer Electric introduces the new IWRM 12Z8704/S14C analog inductive proximity sensor with independently programmable digital and analog outputs. This completely self-contained unit delivers highly precise non-contact proximity, position and distance sensing for metal objects, and is capable of identifying two different metal substrates in the same application.

The IWRM 12Z8704/S14C sensor features digital output with two selectable trigger points, and may be used for sorting metal objects, concentricity or shape sensing, assessing wear measurement and circularity, and thickness measurement. IP 67 approved, the Dual Programmable Inductive Sensor features an operating range of 0 to 4 mm, and a resolution of 0.005 mm with a deviation of just 0.05V for consistent output. The sensor's supply voltage range is 10 to 30 VDC and response time is <2.5 ms.

Measuring just 2.5-inches long and 0.5-inch in diameter, this is the smallest output self-contained dual programmable sensor on the market. The sensor features a quick-disconnect connector and a built in amplifier for quick and easy installation and removal. Reversible output allows the end user to match output to any target application without complicated reprogramming of controllers. The sensor also offers an external teach-in mode and a remote programmable set point that allows the controller to reprogram the sensor on the fly.
