Proto Quick Ratchet Wins Product of the Year Award

Plant Engineering recognizes the new tool as one of the year's top innovations.
Conyers, GA March 21, 2007-The Blackhawk(TM) by Proto® Quick Ratchet(TM) tool set has been chosen by the readers of Plant Engineering magazine as a 2006 Plant Engineering Product of the Year. Winning this award is a significant accomplishment for the Proto team.
The Product of the Year Awards honor the most innovative and useful products introduced to the industrial plant engineering market each year. Entries are screened by a panel of plant engineers then published in the magazine. Readers then vote on their choices for the best products. This year's winners will be published in the magazine's April issue.
The reason the Quick Ratchet(TM) set is so innovative is that it lets any technician enjoy the benefits of a technology once found only in precision torque wrenches. It includes a ratchet handle that accepts interchangeable working heads, including ratcheting box wrenches, 3/8-in. and 1/4-in. socket drivers, and a screwdriver bit driver. A precise positioning head rotates through 180 degrees, locking every 12 degrees in 15 different positions.

The handle's slim profile, flexible head, and short sweep make it easy to access and turn fasteners in some of the most cramped and hard-to-reach spots.
