New Isolated Models up to 2,000 Vdc Now Available in 2U 2 kW to 10 kW XR Series
Magna-Power Electronics, a leader in high-power programmable DC power supplies, introduced 15 new models to its immensely successful XR Series programmable DC power supply line, which now provides isolated outputs up to 2,000 Vdc and up to 10 kW in an industry-leading 2U rack-mount package. The new isolated models at 1250 Vdc, 1500 Vdc, and 2000 Vdc satisfy the testing requirements for a variety of applications, including: gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) devices, high-voltage DC/DC converters, the oil and gas industry and the rail industry.
The new XR Series models maintain Magna-Power’s best-in-class performance specifications, offering ripple less than 0.025% of full scale, ± 0.01% of full scale load regulation, and full-scale voltage-current programming accuracy of ± 0.075%. XR Series models come standard with monitoring and control from a variety of sources, including: front panel, computer interface and an isolated DB37 analog-digital I/O connector. A Standard Commands for Programmable Instrumentation (SCPI) command set is supported, allowing easy ASCII text programming over a computer interface. In addition, an IVI driver is included for the Visual Studio programming environment along with a dedicated National Instruments LabVIEW™ and LabWindows™ driver. Additional computer interface options include LXI TCP/IP Ethernet (+LXI), IEEE-488 GPIB (+GPIB), USB and RS-485.
The XR Series has been a focus of research and develop activities this year, as the product line was expanded up to 10 kW, up to 600 Adc and with new non-isolated models from 4,000 Vdc to 10,000 Vdc—all while maintaining its 2U package size. The XR Series product now spans 126 models from 2 kW to 10 kW output power, with programmable output voltage ratings from 5 Vdc to 10,000 Vdc and programmable output current ratings from 0.2 Adc to 600 Adc.
The new isolated XR Series models are now available, designed and manufactured at Magna-Power’s vertically integrated United States manufacturing facility in Flemington, New Jersey.
