Programmable Motion Controller simultaneously controls 2 axes.

Press Release Summary:

Dual-axis Model EMP402 controls coordinated motion for dual 2- or 5-phase hybrid stepping motor systems. Up to 32 motion profile programs with total capacity of 1000 commands can be entered into controller via PC or terminal controller using RS232C communications port. EMP402 travels up to 16.777 million steps or ± 8.388 million absolute steps at command frequency range of 10-200 kHz. It provides 8 general purpose inputs and 6 general purpose outputs.

EMP Dual Axis Programmable Motion Controller

Torrance, CA - Oriental Motor USA Corp. announces the EMP402, a new dual axis programmable motion controller for coordinated motion for dual 2- or 5-phase hybrid stepping motor systems. The EMP402 provides the pulse train for controlling motors for both high speed motion and positioning. A jerk-limit control feature ensures smoothness of speed change at the critical motion transition points of starting and constant speed motion.

Two axes are controlled simultaneously allowing direct movement to the commanded position. Up to 32 motion profile programs with a total capacity of 1000 commands can be entered into the two axis EMP402 controller via a PC or terminal controller using an RS232C communications port. The EMP402 can travel up to 16.777 million steps or +/- 8.388 million absolute steps at a command frequency range of 10 to 200 kHz.

The controller possesses three digital inputs (Start, E-Stop, and S-Stop) and four digital outputs (Move, Alarm, Ready and End) used to control overall controller motion. The EMP402 provides the end user with eight general purpose inputs and six general purpose outputs (I/Os). Controller size is 1.57" wide by 5.31" high by 3.94" long. Input power required is 24 VDC and up to 0.45 amps maximum. An optional interface unit (OP300) is available. A single axis controller (EMP401) is also available.
