Programmable Logic Controller provides network redundancy.

Press Release Summary:

Capable of withstanding constant shock and vibration, Model 750-885 Media Redundancy Controller features 2 redundant networks backed by dual, independent Ethernet interfaces and 1 MB of data memory. Ethernet ports permit operation over independent networks and paths, which are accessible via different IP addresses and MAC IDs. If Path 1 fails, Path 2 resumes communication. Providing up to 32 GB of extra memory, SD card supports back-up-and-restore, file transfer, and time-stamping/data logging.

Original Press Release:

WAGO SD Card-Equipped Media Redundancy Controller

GERMANTOWN, WI – Blending automation and IT protocols, WAGO Corporation’s new 750-885 Media Redundancy Controller provides applications with network redundancy and greater data processing. The ETHERNET 2.0 750-885 PLC features two redundant networks backed by dual, independent Ethernet interfaces and 1MB of data memory. SD Card provides up to 32GB of extra memory for back-up-and-restore, file transfer and time-stamping/data-logging.

Via SD Card, 750-885 can improve manufacturing, process and traffic engineering applications. For example, OEM efficiency can be improved by transferring program, bootfiles and device parameters from PLC to PLC. SD Card allows bluewater vessel operators to time-stamp navigation/propulsion changes and forward data to internal safety boards. Network redundancy can benefit building automation and facility management by supporting HVAC control and lighting systems.

Dual LAN, Dual Safety Net:

A dual LAN, 750-885’s two Ethernet ports permit operation over independent networks and paths, which are accessible via different IP addresses and MAC IDs. If Path 1 fails (e.g., broken cable), Path 2 resumes communication. This is critical — and often mandatory — in engine rooms or building security. If redundancy is not required, 750-885 separates data between different networks, e.g., between machine and office.

750-885 withstands constant vibration/shocks, EMC interference and high air humidity/temperatures. Up to 22.5% more compact than traditional solutions, it supports space-restricted shipboard and on/offshore applications. An Extended Temperature variant (-20°C to +60°C) is available for diverse machinery from icebreakers to desert refineries; all 750-885 models carry UL 508.

WAGO is the leader in spring pressure connection technology that eliminates loose wires resulting from vibration and temperature cycling, while providing highly reliable, corrosion-resistant and maintenance-free connections. Products: DIN-rail, PCB and chassis mount terminal blocks; signal conditioners; the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM and more.
