New Nano Controller From Omron Is Compact, Offers Flexible Expansion And Uses Ladder Logic Programming
SCHAUMBURG, IL (March 18, 2002)- Omron's new ZEN nano controller's 70mm x 90mm x 56mm compact size allows for installation in almost any location for a variety of simple control applications. It features flexible expansion, with up to 3 I/O expansion modules that can be added to any CPU for a maximum of 34 I/O points. User-friendly with ladder logic programming, its CPUs can use the ZEN's support software for ladder programming. Also, the LCD-type CPUs include eight operation buttons on the front panel to enable programming in ladder view. Programs can consist of up to 96 lines of ladder logic with 3 inputs and 1 output per line, which allows simple control applications to easily be accomplished. The ZEN support software can be used for programming all parameter settings and printing.
The ZEN's programming cable allows a user to simply download the program from a PC to the ZEN via a front panel port. The compact memory cassette lets a user transfer the same program to multiple ZEN nano controllers, allowing a useful medium for repeating programs during machine manufacturing and downloading recipe settings for fast product changeovers. In addition, the ZEN's battery unit can be used with the ZEN nano controller CPUs to prevent any loss of data upon an extended power loss.
The ZEN is ideal for simple control applications in factory, building, home and public facilities and in automated products or systems.
