Programmable DC Panel Meter takes up to 60 readings/second.

Press Release Summary:

Providing 0.01% FS accuracy, Laureate DC Digital Voltmeter/Ammeter is suited for peak capture, alarm, control, and real-time computer interface. Used as direct-reading voltmeter, unit provides 5 full-scale voltage ranges from 200 mV with 10 µV resolution to 600 V with 100 mV resolution. Used as ammeter, it provides 4 full-scale, direct-acting current ranges from 2 mA with 0.1 mA resolution to 5 A with 1 mA resolution. Isolated 5, 10, and 24 Vdc excitation output is standard.

Programmable DC Panel Meter Takes up to 60 Readings Per Second, Is Accurate to 0.01% of Full Scale

Costa Mesa, CA - Laurel Electronics, Inc. announces the Laureate Model DC Digital Voltmeter and Ammeter, a UL-listed, 4½ digit panel meter which combines 0.01% full-scale accuracy with read rates up to 60/sec. Such high read rates are ideal for peak capture, alarm, control, and real-time computer interface.

Used as a direct-reading voltmeter, the Laureate DC provides five full-scale voltage ranges from 200.00 mV with 10 µV resolution to 600.0 V with 100 mV resolution. The 200.00 mV and 2.000 V ranges provide a high input impedance of 1 Gohm to minimize the load on the voltage signal.

Used as a DC ammeter, the Laureate DC provides four full-scale direct-reading current ranges from 2.0000 mA with 0.1 mA resolution to 5.000 A with 1 mA resolution. The 5.000 A range measures the IR drop across a built-in 10 milliohm current shunt.

All voltage and current ranges are calibrated at the factory, with calibration factors for each range stored in EEPROM. This allows ranges to be switched without recalibrating the meter.

The Laureate DC is ideal for use with external current shunts, which typically produce 50 mV or 100 mV at their rated maximum current. Scaling from millivolts to amps for a specific shunt value is easily accomplished from the front panel. Since shunt signals can be noisy, the Laureate DC provides an adaptive digital filter with selectable time constants. This filter quiets the reading in noisy environments, yet responds quickly to changes in level that exceed a threshold.

The peak value of the input signal is automatically captured and may be displayed via a front panel pushbutton command or a control signal at the rear connector. Other controls at the rear connector include meter hold and meter reset.

An isolated 5, 10 and 24 Vdc excitation output is standard to power external devices, such as transducers or two-wire transmitters. Options include 8A dual contact relays or dual 12- mA solid state relays for control or alarm, an isolated 4-20 mA or 0-10V analog output, and an RS232 or RS485 port for data communications with a host computer or PLC. Modbus RS485 is fully supported.

The base price is $210. For product specifications and the pricing of options, visit www.laurels.com/dcmeter.htm.
