New ACR Programmable Automation Controllers Increase Efficiency, Save Time

Xpress PAC combines industry standards with Parker's proven motion control excellence

Rohnert Park, CA - Parker's Electromechanical Automation Division, a leading supplier of motion control technology, is pleased to announce the release of its ACR9600 Xpress Programmable Automation Controller (PAC). The Xpress PAC 9600 builds upon the core motion engine of the ACR9000 family of controllers and now allows users to develop code in IEC 61131-3 programming languages. Also included are industry standards for communications with EtherNet/IP, networked servo drives via ETHERNET Powerlink and PLCopen function blocks. All of these features are managed from a single integrated software development environment.

"The Xpress family of products is all about increasing productivity and reducing your development time and cost," says Jim Wiley, controls product manager. "Each member of your team can program in the style they prefer, using a single software package that can be freely shared throughout your organization. ACR-View does not require seat licenses or yearly maintenances fees, allowing a true collaboration from code development all the way through to commissioning."

The Xpress 9600 is part of a Parker family that plays well together, integrating seamlessly with Xpress HMI and Parker motors.

Interact Xpress HMI applications are developed, edited, published and run in a browser-based environment that is intrinsic to the web, allowing users and OEMs to easily publish upgrades and applications to any global location with an Internet connection and a web browser. This web integration also simplifies implementation of remote diagnosis for support of machinery anywhere in the world.

"Xpress branded products are your guarantee of easy interoperability with other Parker Xpress family products," adds Andy Balderson, HMI product manager. "They also significantly reduce your development time by providing intelligence and information flow from one product to the next, such as motor parameters to drive or controller tags to HMI." Balderson notes that this robust HMI solution lowers the cost of development, integration and support.

Finally, even Parker's motors can communicate with the Xpress family. "Our Xpress motors provide their parameter information directly to our Aries EPL Xpress drives, eliminating costly setup time," says Jay Schultz, motors product manager.
