Atlas Offers Classes on Weathering



Chicago (March 8, 2004) - Atlas Material Testing Technology LLC, the recognized leader in quality control and quality assurance testing, will be offering professional courses on weathering at multiple locations nationwide.

The courses, Fundamentals of Weathering I and Fundamentals of Weathering II, will be given between March 30, 2004 and October 20, 2004. A complete listing of class locations is included in this release.

Fundamentals of Weathering I is a one-day seminar that introduces the basics of both natural and accelerated weathering testing to those involved in designing, evaluating, specifying, selling or purchasing materials or products that could be affected by exposure to light or weather.

Special attention is given to proper techniques for the accurate testing of:
o Paints and protective coatings
o Automotive materials
o Architectural building products
o Molded plastic materials

Textile and fiber lightfastness and weatherability are also discussed.

Tuition for this course is $195 per person and includes continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments and course materials. Advanced registration is required.

Fundamentals of Weathering II is an advanced seminar for those who want to increase their knowledge of how various weather and climatic factors can affect materials, and how to test the resistance of a formulation or product to these factors.

This course will examine the way advanced laboratory instruments control irradiance, humidity and temperature. Visual and instrumental evaluation methods for determining both appearance and physical attributes will be taught.

Tuition for Fundamentals of Weathering II is $195 per person. A 10% discount is given on each class to students who attend both courses.
