New GB Xtreme(TM) Products by Gardner Bender

MILWAUKEE (November 2002) - Gardner Bender has maximized wire performance in harsh environments with GB Xtreme(TM), a new line of tough-duty wire terminals, lugs, primary wire, and cushion clamps.

GB Xtreme(TM) products are designed to withstand exposures to moisture, petrochemicals, acids, alkalis, UV rays, vibration, salt water, and other environmental factors. They're built from tough materials, including nylon, tin-plated copper, annealed stainless steel, and EPDM, a highly durable synthetic rubber.

Ideal for outdoor lighting, pool, irrigation, mower, pump, and other difficult environments, GB Xtreme(TM) products also offer superior performance in automobile, trailer, and marine applications.

Each product is designed and built to meet the elements head-on. GB Xtreme(TM) terminals feature tin-plated copper to resist corrosion and nylon insulation that remains flexible in temperatures ranging from -40° to 110° centigrade. For maximized mechanical strength, splices and terminals are brazed together, not just compression fitted. Waterproof adhesive lines the nylon insulation and when heat-activated, melts and flows around parts, then hardens to reinforce connections and seal out moisture, dust, and other contaminants.

GB Xtreme(TM) lugs are constructed of heavy-duty, pure copper that is tinned for corrosion resistance. Seamless barrels maximize strength, while closed ends seal out moisture. Tinned-copper lugs are up to 40% more conductive than lead terminals and won't come loose or corrode. Softer lead lugs can "cold flow," loosen, and deteriorate due to corrosion, resulting in a dramatic loss of power flow.

GB Xtreme(TM) primary wire features ultra-flexible stranding that resists salt water, battery acid, oil, gasoline, and UV radiation. With 12% more tinned copper than non-specific wire, GB Xtreme(TM) wire meets Type 3 stranding criteria for fatigue and corrosion resistance. It is clad in premium-grade, 600-volt, vinyl insulation that stays limber in freezing weather and resists abrasion, water, flame, and chemicals better than general-purpose, thermoplastic insulation.

GB Xtreme(TM) cushion clamps are constructed of T304 stainless steel-virtually eliminating corrosion-and then annealed for outstanding flexibility. The EPDM cushion insulator will not break down when exposed to extreme temperatures, water, salt spray, petrochemicals, oils, and acids.

Each of the 42 products available in the GB Xtreme(TM) line is designed to meet harsh conditions head-on, whether buried, sun-baked, or subjected to acids, petrochemicals, vibration, or other environmental factors. GB Xtreme(TM) products also allow secure connections to be formed easier and quicker, increasing efficiency.

Extreme conditions call for extreme measures, and professionals and do-it-yourselfers alike will find what they're looking for in new GB Xtreme(TM) wire terminals, lugs, primary wire, and cushion clamps. For extreme purchasing convenience, GB Xtreme(TM) products are offered in uniformly sized, see-through packages.
