Processor Module is designed for WSN gateway applications.

Press Release Summary:

DIL/NetPC ADNP/9200 connects Ethernet LANs to wireless sensor networks (WSNs). In addition to Ethernet, UART, SPI, SSI/I2C, and USB, miniature module also supports IEEE 802.15.4, ZigBee, Bluetooth, IEEE 802.11 WLAN, and other WSN wireless standards. There are 20 universal GPIO signals available and two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN interfaces with separate MAC and PHY layer that function completely independently from each other. Expansion sandwich layer is used for WSN integration.

32-bit Processor Module for WSN Gateway Applications

Industrial communication tasks are becoming increasingly complex. In many cases, Ethernet inter-faces and the TCP/IP protocol stacks are no longer up to the job. An increasing number of new products call for interfaces that also support the integration of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). That is why SSV Embedded Systems has developed its DIL/NetPC ADNP/9200, which is specifically de-signed for connecting Ethernet LANs to WSNs. In addition to Ethernet, UART, SPI, SSI/I2C and USB, this miniature module also supports IEEE 802.15.4, ZigBee, Bluetooth, IEEE 802.11 WLAN and a number of other WSN wireless standards.

The ADNP/9200 is based on a 32-bit AT91RM9200 ARM9 Atmel microcontroller featuring a processor frequency of 180 MHz, a 32 MB Flash and 64 MB SDRAM. It features the following interfaces: two UARTs, an SPI, an SSI/I2C, two USB Host interfaces and one USB Device interface, and a flexible 16-bit bus interface. There are also 20 universal GPIO signals available. In addition, there are two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN interfaces with a separate MAC and PHY layer that function completely independently from another. An additional layer is used for WSN integration: the expansion sandwich layer (ESL). The tried-and-tested QIL-128 format is used for the mechanical form factor. This ensures compatibility with other members of the DIL/NetPC family. The ADNP/9200 is supplied with a flash-based embedded Linux system that has been optimized, particularly in terms of communication capability.

For evaluation purposes there is a starter kit available. In addition to the ADNP/9200 itself (with 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee-capable wireless interface on a single motherboard), this includes a battery-operated temperature sensor with wireless interface. The starter kit supports the wireless transfer of temperature data via WSN to the ADNP/9200 and makes the data available via Ethernet or other TCP/IP-based accesses.
