Process Multimeter features portable functionality.

Press Release Summary:

Designed for use with webs as narrow as one strand, Spectrum 4 checks and stores speed as well as stretch and shrinkage from roll to roll. Unit can download up to 100 data points to PC, revealing speed to 0.1 yd/min and stretch or shrinkage to 0.1%. Usable for spot checks at critical places or regular QC audits, meter is available with multiple optional contact and non-contact sensors, which it recognizes and calibrates for when inserted.

Spectrum 4 Process Multimeter

Let's Walk the Line and Look for Trouble...

paper, plastics, metal, and textile web processes... in webs as narrow as a single strand.

Simply walk the Spectrum 4 through to check and store speed plus stretch and shrinkage from roll to roll along the way. Download up to 100 data points to your PC, no pencil or paper needed.

Measurements reveal speed to the nearest tenth of a meter or yard per minute and stretch or shrinkage to the nearest tenth percent, as you go. Damp webs generally relax and stretch out as opposed to dry materials that resist tension. Most hygroscopic webs and strands shrink when they are dried after wet immersions.

Use the Spectrum 4 on web-fed presses, sizing machines, paper, rope, wire and cable making machines, Sanforizers, compactors, dry cans, conveyor dryers, tenter frames, laminators, extractors, and dyeing, finishing, and preparation ranges.

Watch out for slack drive belts, worn blankets, bearing failures, poor speed regulation, plus roll and gripper slippage. Use the Spectrum 4 for spot checks at critical places here and there, and use it on regular QC audits.

Optional contact and non-contact sensors include shaft and single-strand speed, stretch and shrinkage, plus moisture, wet pickup, web hardness, nip roll pressure, and temperature. The Spectrum 4 recognizes each sensor when it is plugged in and calibrates itself to read the variable to be sensed, its range, and its units of measure.
