Original Press Release:

CoMo Injection Monitoring System - New Features for up to 24 Channels

Monitoring of cavity pressure is the most effective tool for injection molding process analysis and quality assurance. The new generation of the CoMo Injection Type 2869B... process monitoring system with Version 2.0 software is extremely user friendly. Kistler has further optimized the interface and tuned the system even more finely for injection molding requirements.

In addition to the interface the functionality of the system has been significantly enhanced. The results include optimized real-time functionality for cascade control: the "opening" and "closing" or the needles can now be activated by means of a pressure signal or timed on an absolute or differential basis. In conjunction with the optional 12.1" TFT color touch screen display this now provides an ideal process control monitoring system with integral multichannel cabling technology for Kistler pressure and temperature sensors.

In combination with CoMo MIS and the integral Curve Viewer module, Kistler now offers
sensor, connection system, process control and monitoring through to process data storage, documentation and analysis in simple yet comprehensive and carefully matched, flexibly scalable form. As a complete system for zero-defect production CoMo Injection ensures 100% quality during injection molding.

Background: the cavity pressure curve

In injection molding, the cavity pressure curve serves as the fingerprint for the forming of molded parts and is the most significant value for the assessment of part quality. As the supplier of the world's largest and widest range of sensors for all injection molding techniques, a simple connection technology and networkable systems that are intuitively easy to operate, Kistler is the only manufacturer offering a one-stop shop for tools for integrated monitoring in the field of injection molding. Kistler is the world's leading manufacturer of pressure and temperature sensors for use in the plastics processing industry.
