Process Controller replaces 30 individual meters.

Press Release Summary:

Requiring 15 sq. in. of front panel area and 2 in. behind panel, ¼ DIN DPC Series is suited for applications where several parameters must be displayed, logged, or controlled. It features four 4-digit color-coded displays with their own engineering unit annunciators, and 6-digit center display with exponential digit for extended overflow and its own engineering annunciators such as gal, liters, and lb. RJ-11 socket enables localized configuration from front panel via portable terminal.

Original Press Release:

New ¼ Din Process Controller Replaces 30 Individual Meters

Requiring only 15 square inches of front panel area 3.78 x 3.78" (96x96mm) and 2" behind the panel, OTEK's new DPC series is packed with useful features for the 21st century process control user. Utilizing its 30+ years experience in the meter industry and particularly in the Nuclear, Aerospace, Military and Industrial market, OTEK has unveiled its DPC that rivals flat panel displays but with controlling functions, humanly engineered for present and future generations of technical personnel.

The DPC is ideal for applications where several parameters must be displayed, logged, or controlled. The display consists of 4 ea. 4 digit (0.4") color coded displays with their own engineering units annunciators (42) for any engineering unit caption, including alarm (limits) status of their own. The center display (0.6" 6 digit) has an exponential digit for extended overflow and its own engineering annunciators such as gallons, liters, kilos, pounds, time, etc. The push buttons allow the operator to recall "hidden" parameters related to that display such as the Amps, Hz, Watts of that line (voltage), or its limits (H, HH, L, and LL); but only for 10 seconds before it reverts to its assigned display. Not shown is a RJ-11 socket for localized configuration from the front panel via a portable terminal, this socket is also used for the optional Infrared (IR) transceiver for wireless I/O. This is in addition to the serial communication ports for RS232, 422, 485, CAN, USB, ModBUS, Telephone modem with auto-dialer, and ETHERNET, located behind the panel.

Wireless communication is optional with OTEK's "TR" series of R.F. transceivers. Standard and custom signal conditioners are available, OTEK offers 4-20mA, V, and mADC as standard and Hz, true RMS, S-G, TC, RTD, Humidity, pH, pressure, events, up/down, quadrature, and more options. You can assign any input channel to any display as well as any relay (6) or analog output (4) or open collector/emitter transistor to any channel (stream). The 4 digit can display up to 9999 or -9999, the center displays up to 999999 times its exponential multiplier for maximum of 1015 display. Additionally, the DPC comes with an optional MMC (Multimedia Memory Card) to store in NVM any parameter desired up to 1GB of data that can be retrieved via the serial port once it has been date and time stamped with the Julian RTC data so you know what and when it happened. All you need to do is find out why it happened.

The DPC can be mounted in 90 x 90mm "¼ DIN" panel cutouts

For "Switchboard" (ANSI 4") style, OTEK offers its model SPC with identical features.

Power input is 10-72VDC or 90-265VAC, Nema4X is standard with Mil-Spec, Nuclear, and Aerospace versions available.

The DPC was developed with the assistance of Bigelow Aerospace, developer of the new inflatable Space Habitat Module.
