New Process Controller is Operated by Web Browser

A new process controller designed for network operation in production control systems is announced by Kistler Instrument. The 5863A CoMo Net® process controller is a two-channel unit for DIN rail mounting that is operated by a standard web browser via the ethernet on a PC or web terminal. The unit accepts sensor data and can be adjusted to control and monitor a wide variety of production processing operations involving force. Data from piezoelectric sensors in charge or voltage mode and strain gages activate 12 evaluation functions that can be monitored for processes up to 20 cycles per second.

Six SPC-compatible digital inputs and outputs allow the system to be integrated into a machine control systems. Memory for storing the last 10 measured curves for error analysis is provided. Extensive process data compilation with statistical cp and cpk value analyses advance the level of process evaluation. The unit operates on 24V industrial power and is furnished with an integral web server. The 5863A is a part of a process control/monitor series that joins the existing CoMo line intended for retrofitting individual processes.

Kistler is a worldwide supplier of precision instrumentation for the measurement of pressure, force and acceleration serving the R&D, Industrial and OEM Communities.
