Marposs Adds Networking Capability to P7 Electronic Unit

Chicago, Ill., Sept. 8, 2004 - Marposs introduced at IMTS 2004 a networking capability based on the Ethernet networking standard for its versatile P7 multi-function electronic system for process control. The Ethernet connection replaces serial connections to enable fast, reliable transmission of data between devices and the P7 unit.

The P7 electronic system is a unique multi-function process control device capable of managing various types of machine tools by means of Pre-Process, In-Process and Post-Process measurement controls, shape control, and touch probe control, as well as automatic wheel balancing, and optimizing the wheel feed and wheel dressing cycles of grinders through acoustic analysis.

According to Marposs engineers, the Ethernet connection simplifies integrating the P7 unit with PCs, which are increasingly eliminating serial port connections. In addition to connecting with PCs, the Ethernet connection allows the P7 to be interfaced with networks. This networking ability would allow the connection of a P7 amplifier to the Internet allowing off-sight monitoring of the process status and analysis.

Complete information on the P7 process control system with Ethernet networking capability can be obtained by contacting Marposs Corporation, 3300 Cross Creek Parkway, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Toll-free phone 1-888-627-7677. Fax: (248) 370-0621. E-Mail: marposs@us.marposs.com.
