Buffalo, New York – Multisorb Technologies has announced it will be exhibiting at Pack Expo 2014 in Chicago, Illinois, from November 2-5, 2014. Multisorb will be using North America's largest packaging and processing show to discuss with electronics manufacturers and engineers the solution for moisture ingress in electronics device housing.
Moisture can wreak havoc with electronic products, creating a host of problems, such as optical lens fog, insulation break down, power semiconductor failure, and corrosion of contacts and relays. Multisorb engineers have worked to solve many moisture related issues. The company's engineers evaluate the product and its intended environment, test the device for leaks, and determine the ingress rate for the polymer used. With this information, they are able to determine an optimized sorbent solution.
Platforms include Drop-In (packets and sheets), Fit-In (tapes and compressed forms) and Built-In (desiccant properties are integrated into a polymer). Compressed form desiccants, such as Multiforms® and Nat 900® sorbents, can be formed to fit within a specific space in a device or package and are most widely used with electronic products. However, when internal space to fit a desiccant is at a minimum, desiccants integrated directly into a polymer can be injection molded into a functional, PolySorb® component for the device, serving dual purposes.
