Latest Version of KODAK PREPS Software Further Enhances Productivity, Adds Job Ganging Tool for Increased Press Sheet Utilization
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Sept. 6-With more than 30,000 copies of KODAK PREPS Imposition Software in use at customer sites around the globe, the release of version 5.3 brings digital and offset printers another powerful capability for the efficient creation of imposition files.
PREPS Software now includes a new ganging feature that arranges job pages on virtual press sheets in preparation for plate production. Prepress professionals can arrange pages of different sizes in a layout and use the step and repeat feature to fill an area with copies of selected pages. The ganging function allows printers to run multiple jobs together on the same press sheet to maximize sheet and plate space.
"The ganging tool in PREPS Software version 5.3 enables much faster arranging of job pages on press sheets, helping save even more time and resources during the complex imposition process," said Nick Benkovich, PREPS Product Manager at Kodak.
JDF-certified PREPS Imposition Software allows users to impose multiple pages of a publication or newspaper in a logical order so the end product prints and folds correctly. PREPS Software automates imposition, a time consuming and error prone task, and supports POSTSCRIPT, PDF, EPS, DCS and TIFF source files. It works with all KODAK and many major third party workflow systems.
