ifm efector Introduces Two-wire, Loop-powered Pressure Transmitter for Sanitary Applications
EXTON, PA - August 14, 2006 - ifm efector inc. announces a new line of two-wire, loop-powered pressure transmitters designed for sanitary applications. The PI Series pressure transmitter features a 4-digit integrated LED display that provides continuous indication of pressure value. The transmitter´s programmable display offers simple pushbutton setup that enables adjustment of the scaleable analog output. The two-wire sensor retrofits existing pressure transmitters and is easy to wire.
The 316 stainless steel unit is rated IP69K and tested to withstand high-pressure cleanings and extreme washdown conditions. With integrated temperature compensation, the transmitter is designed to experience minimal signal drift over a wide temperature range. The transmitter offers an accuracy of <0.2% of full scale and is designed for a variety of application solutions including line pressure, filter monitoring, pump protection and tank level.
ifm´s ceramic cell sensing technology eliminates the need for diaphragms. The integrated ceramic cell sensing element with Teflon sealing offers overload and vacuum resistance under harsh conditions. Built-in temperature thermal decoupling allows the transmitter to withstand CIP cycle temperatures.
The PI transmitter measures approximately 4.5" (119mm) high and is flush-mounted directly in a pipe or tank using industry standard adapters and fittings. The transmitter meets 3A and EHEDG requirements and its materials meet FDA regulation 21 CFR.
