San Marcos, CA-June 24, 2004-With a state-of-the-art hermetically sealed piezoresistive sensing element, the new AS-PT Pressure Transmitter from Fluid Components International supports a wide range of aerospace, aviation, marine and military applications in harsh conditions ranging from the rigors of space to marine environments.
The advanced AS-PT Pressure Transmitter operates with integral or remote electronics that provide an output signal that is directly proportional to pressure in the process control loop. It can be directly installed into pipes, ducts, tanks, reservoirs and gearboxes on military and commercial aircraft and spacecraft, as well as land-based and marine vehicles.
Highly accurate, rugged and reliable, the AS-PT Pressure Transmitter is ideal for measurement within pipes, ducts, hydraulic and gearbox oil, coolants and fuels, as well as potable water or wastewater and many other fluids and gases. Accuracy is +1 percent of reading, with repeatability of +0.1 percent of reading. The highly responsive AS-PT Pressure Transmitter sense changes in pressure within 0.5 second.
Designed for challenging environments, the AS-PT Pressure Transmitter operates from -40 to +257F (-40 to +125C). The AS-PT withstands high pressure environments too--operating at up to 10,000 psig [69 bar(g). It is qualified to Mil-STD-130-Marking, Mil-STD-810-Environmental Testing, Mil-STD-461/462-EMI and more.
With a no-moving parts design, the AS-PT Pressure Transmitter is simple to install, requires no maintenance and offers a long service life. The highly reliable AS-PT Pressure Transmitter has been tested to a mean time between failure rate of 60,000-plus hours. The sensor element and housing are constructed of 300 series stainless steel, with optional aluminum, titanium or other alloys available with hermetically sealed connectors. Process connections available included threaded or flanged types meeting AS930, AS4395 and MS33656. Electrical connections offered are military, commercial connector or pigtail cable.
Depending on design, weight ranges from 0.2 to 0.7 pounds (0.09 to 0.31 kgs).
