Combo Pressure/Temperature Sensors Offer Both Outputs at One Process Point
Pressure/Temperature Sensors simplify control systems, saves cost of multiple units
Mt. Olive, NJ - American Sensor Technologies (AST) introduces an innovative pressure/temperature sensor and pressure/temperature transmitter that provide both pressure and temperature outputs from a single process point. This dual output configuration reduces process penetration points and leaks that are important considerations in critical systems such as hydrogen, oxygen, heavy oil processing, hydraulics, analyzers, offshore, pipelines and ammonia systems.
In addition to saving money by performing the task of two units, the Model AST20PT Stainless Steel Media Isolated Pressure/Temperature Sensor and Model AST46PT Explosionproof Pressure/Temperature Transmitter also are ideal for low-power systems as both a pressure and temperature reading are generated with the power consumption of one sensor.
Incorporating a microprocessor-controlled design, along with AST's proven one-piece body construction, both the Model AST20PT Sensor and Model AST46PT Transmitter offer high accuracy pressure and temperature measurements of +/-0.1% and 1.0% BFSL, respectively. Both units are available in various temperature ranges from -40° to 250°F (-40° to 125°C). While the Model AST46PT is offered in pressure ranges up to up to 20,000 PSI (1,400 Bar), the Model AST20PT is available in pressure ranges up to 45,000 PSI (3,100 Bar).
Both units can be constructed in a wide range of wetted materials, including high-quality stainless steels and superalloys: 17-4PH SS, 316L SS, Inconel 718, Waspalloy, and Hastelloy C-276. The Model AST46PT is also CSA-approved for use in hazardous areas including Class 1 Div 1 Explosionproof Groups A, B, C and D, and for mining applications, Class 2 Div 1 Groups E, F and G.
"This is a significant addition to AST's product line. The option to have a superior pressure reading along with a temperature sensor output for less than the cost of a stand-alone temperature sensor will simplify systems and save cost," says Samuel Franzblau, AST Sales and Marketing Manager. "In addition to cost savings, these sensors will be a 'must-have' for low-power systems, as you can get two readings with the power consumption of one sensor."

About American Sensor Technologies, Inc.
American Sensor Technologies, Inc. (AST) manufactures MEMS pressure sensors, pressure transducers and pressure transmitters that offer the best price to performance ratio in the industry. Manufactured in New Jersey, AST pressure transmitter products are built with a full selection of hazardous area and industrial approvals to service customer applications. Common industries utilizing AST sensor products are industrial OEM hydraulic systems, fuel cells, medical gases, HVAC, refrigeration (ammonia, Freon, CO2), Oil & Gas exploration and production, and off-road vehicles. AST's exclusive, proprietary Krystal Bond(TM) Technology (an advanced process in which inorganic materials are molecularly diffused onto a metallic surface in the presence of certain gases), produces high-performance MEMS pressure transmitter products through the use of a single piece of stainless steel. AST offers a variety of UL and CSA approvals for Explosion-proof, Intrinsically Safe, and Non-incendive pressure transmitter applications.
