Original Press Release:

Combined Pressure & Temperature Sensor has a CAN Protocol Interface

For Immediate Release: May 24, 2004 Moorpark, CA --- Kavlico's model CS100 combined pressure and temperature sensor is for OEM applications requiring a CAN BUS interface. The CS100 interface meets the SAE J1939 communication standard. The sensor is well suited for on or off-highway applications where robust serial communications are required while decreasing wiring harness weight and complexity. The highly accurate ceramic capacitive sensing element, paired with a rugged brass housing, stainless steel outer housing and a MIL-C-26482 connector offers a superior pressure and temperature-sensing product. Ideal for wet or dry applications, the sensor may be specified as either gage or absolute and is available in several ranges up to 300 psi. Other features include an operating temperature range of -40 to +125° C, proof pressure 3 times pressure range, and a minimum burst pressure of 2000 psi. The sensor operates on 5 Vdc +/- 0.25 volts. The sensor can be provided without the temperature sensor should the specific application not require a temperature output. Additionally, the sensor can be factory programmed or user programmed for desired BUS address.
