Pressure Sensors suit high-volume OEM applications.

Press Release Summary:

Series 1500 Sensors yield inherently accurate pressure measurements up to 2000 psi via piezoresistive silicon technology and ASIC compensation. Static accuracy is better than ±0.25% FS BSL including effects of non-linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability. Thermal accuracy is within ±1% FS over 14 to 122°F, and ambient operating temperature range is -40 to 212°F. Process media can be any fluid/gas compatible with 316L Stainless/Hastelloy C276.

GE Announces New Low Cost Industrial Pressure Sensor High Performance Series 1500 Sensor Designed for High Volume Applications

New Fairfield, Connecticut -- March 3, 2003 -- GE Druck, a unit of GE Industrial Systems and the General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) and a leading provider of precision pressure sensors and related test/calibration instruments, announced today a new series of low cost industrial pressure sensors that provide a cost-effective and reliable solution for the most demanding, high-volume measurement applications such as transportation and industrial applications.

Designed for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and large-scale users with ranges up to 2000 psi, the new Series 1500 sensor is based on a widely proven sensor technology yielding inherently accurate and reliable pressure measurements via field-proven piezoresistive silicon technology and advanced ASIC compensation resulting in a high-performance, low-cost family of products.

"This new product introduction further expands the comprehensive product portfolio with an even wider choice of specifications and price/performance levels," said Robert Knowles, president of GE Druck. "Customers with high volume installations or critical applications, such as automotive and train braking, compression and refrigeration equipment, gas volume correction, and suspension systems, will realize lower cost of ownership with this new product."

Priced as low as $55, the 1500 series is by far the lowest priced pressure sensor ever offered by GE Druck. Excellent reliability and minimal cost of ownership is achieved by compliance with current environmental standards including NEMA 4X packaging, 200% proof/400% containment pressures and good long-term stability.

Static accuracy of the 1500 series is better than ±0.25%FS BSL including effects of non-linearity, hysteresis and repeatability. Thermal accuracy is within ±1%FS over 14 to 122°F and ambient operating temperature range is -40 to 212°F (176°F for cable versions). Process media can be any fluid/gas (<275°F) compatible with 316L Stainless/Hastelloy C276.
