Honeywell Introduces 26PC SMT Surface Mount Pressure Sensor
FREEPORT, Ill., July 03, 2003 - Honeywell Sensing and Control has introduced the 26PC SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Series sensor, the first true surface mount pressure sensor. Adhering to Honeywell's standard of taking the risk and high cost out of system critical sensing and control, the 26PC SMT is a low-cost, high value sensing solution for use on printed circuit assemblies. The 26PC SMT Series supports gage, vacuum gage, differential and wet/wet sensing applications. Although primarily designed for the medical industry, the 26PC SMT pressure sensor series may be applied in any industry that requires a surface mount pressure sensor.
The 26PC SMT introduces these features:
o the first and only true surface mount pressure sensor
o small package size saves critical board space
o can be picked and placed with other circuit components
o withstands reflow temperatures
Based on the long established reliability and accuracy of Honeywell's 26PC pressure sensor, the 26PC SMT offers temperature compensated circuitry in a compact package with true SMT capability. The sensor's small package size of 10,92mm (0.43 in.) x 6,10 mm (0.24 in.) x 7,80 mm (0.31 in.) saves critical board space. Because the 26PC SMT can be picked and placed with other circuit components and withstands reflow temperatures, it significantly reduces installation cost.
The sensor features Wheatstone bridge construction, silicon piezoresistive technology and ratiometric output for proven application flexibility, design simplicity and ease of manufacture.
