Adhesives Research's Electronic Business Unit Showcases New Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive Technologies at WESCON

GLEN ROCK, Pa. (June 11, 2003) - Adhesives Research, Inc., a leading global developer and manufacturer of custom pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) technology, will be showcasing its broad product line of high-performance PSA systems at the WESCON trade show August 12-14, 2003, in San Francisco, Ca. Featured in booth #1049/1051 will be EMI shielding, electrically conductive and ultra low-outgassing specialty products for the global electronics industry.

Among the specific products being showcased:
ARclad® 90038 is a 2.4-mil, conductive tape designed for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding in a variety of electronic products. It features an electrically conductive, acrylic-based, pressure-sensitive adhesive and a 1-ounce tin plated, copper foil backing that can be easily soldered and is resistant to corrosion and oxidation. The shielding effectiveness of ARclad® 90038 ranges from 95dB to 80dB in the 1 GHz to 18 GHz frequency range, making it appropriate for use in cellular phones, computers and computer peripherals, ground stations, PDAs, disk drives, medical equipment, modems and automotive electronics. Supported by a polyester release liner, ARclad® 90038 is easy to die-cut and dispense.

ARclad® 9032 is another electrically conductive tape that can also be used to fabricate EMI shields. This thin tape features a 1-mil acrylic pressure-sensitive transfer adhesive supported by a durable, polyester film release liner. ARclad® 9032 quickly builds a strong bond and is highly conductive in the Z-axis. It has excellent aging stability and offers important process, cost and advantages over mechanical, liquid and spray adhesive systems. ARclad® 9032 is suggested as a reliable method for also fabricating electrical interconnections and ground plane assemblies for cellular phones, computers, PDAs, disk drives, modems, automotive electronics and other electronic equipment. Also, this tape product is manufactured with plastic cores for compatibility with cleanroom requirements.

ARclean® 9019 is an ultra low-outgassing product suggested for use in the fabrication of tape seals and labels in hard disk drive assemblies. This electronically clean, ultra low-outgassing
adhesive features a 2-mil thermnally printable, white polyester film backing. ARclean® 9019 is suggested for the fabrication of head stack assembly, marketing and caddy labels for hard disk drives where clean strippability is required for rework after the burn-in process. It is acrylic acid-free with ultra low total VOCs and low extractable ions.

Adhesives Research offers several categories of specialty PSAs and tape systems to the global electronics market under the ARclad®, ARclean®, ARclear® and Flexshield® brand names.
These include:
o A line of electronically clean, acrylic acid-free, ultra low-outgassing permanent and strippable tapes for hard disk drive assembly;
o High-performance adhesive technologies for wireless communications devices;
o Thermally conductive tapes for thermal management;
o Adhesive-coated foils and metallized fabrics for EMI shielding;
o Electrically conductive tapes for interconnections, static control and grounding.

Available in roll or sheet form, Adhesives Research's PSA systems can be processed by tape converters and fabricators into die-cut components for electronics assembly and industrial
applications.

Adhesives Research's pressure-sensitive adhesives are used around the world in the electronics, automotive, aerospace and construction industries, as well as other diverse markets such as
