NJM/CLI Introduces the Model 326 Auto-Colt III Trunnion Labeler

February 25, 2009 - NJM/CLI introduces the new Model 326 Auto-Colt III Trunnion, a pressure sensitive labeler for small pharmaceutical and ophthalmic containers. Featuring a servo-driven feedscrew and trunnion roll system for positive container handling and servo-driven label dispenser and applicator for accurate label placement, the Auto-Colt III Trunnion achieves superior labeling accuracies of +/- 0.5 mm while fast changeovers and low maintenance maximize operating efficiencies.

Ideal for round containers from 0.563 to 2 inches (14.3 to 50.8 mm) in diameter and with shoulder heights from 0.813 to 3 inches (20.6 to 76.2 mm), the Auto-Colt III Trunnion handles up to 300 containers per minute, applying wrap-around labels.

The Auto-Colt III Trunnion features four synchronized Allen-Bradley Kinetix servomotors that achieve automatic speed compensation and synchronization with the conveyor. The integrated label tracking capability of the Allen-Bradley CompactLogix platform maximizes equipment versatility.

NJM/CLI can equip the Auto-Colt III Trunnion with a wide range of options
including: OCV/OCR vision camera, RFID labeling, hot stamp, laser or thermal transfer coders, label placement inspection, barcode readers, soft rejects stations, automatic label removal station to eliminate faulty labels from the web and more.

NJM/CLI designed the Auto-Colt III Trunnion to ease operation and maximize uptime. The servo-driven feedscrew features an integrated air reject for fallen containers, which reduces jams and minimizes the unplanned downtime associated with clearing the system of fallen containers. Fail-safe logic keeps the system running even when the web is missing a label.

A user-friendly, 10-inch Windows-based color touchscreen control panel offers four levels of password-protected access to help maintain optimal performance. Recipe management and repeatable indication points for all machine settings simplify and speed changeovers. Fixed position product sensors eliminate the need to make mechanical adjustments when setting the label location on the container. The Auto-Colt III Trunnion can be changed over in less than 10 minutes with no tools required.

With its heavy-duty stainless steel and aluminum construction, high quality components, enclosed frame design and raised-bed sanitary conveyor, the Auto-Colt III Trunnion meets GMP standards and offers exceptional durability.

To ease maintenance, the Auto-Colt III Trunnion features a full barrier guard with front and back access doors, and the main control panel is mounted on a pullout drawer for easy access. Quick disconnect sensors allow failed sensors to be quickly replaced without rewiring. The conveyor is driven by an AC motor with variable frequency drive to help keep maintenance costs down.
