FCI Extends Its D-Sub High Density Press-Fit Connector Range
(ETTERS, PA--January 9, 2008) FCI, a leading supplier of connectors and interconnect systems, has enlarged its high density Compact D series to 62 contact connectors in straight receptacle versions to meet the industry's increasing need for higher density connectors and as a complement to its press-fit D-sub range in 78 contacts.
Provided with press-fit terminations, this latest addition to FCI's Compact D connector range also helps avoid the cost and time of an additional wave solder process. This connector is compatible with any PCB thickness starting from 1.6 mm, a great advantage for thick backplanes.
The 62 contact receptacle connector occupies the same board space as 37 contact versions and is well suited to any telecom and industrial applications. FCI has the capability to support the 62 contact straight receptacles in press-fit versions with various mounting options including threaded inserts, receptacle screw locks and harpoons for grounding purpose.
This Compact D connector range is available in tray packaging.
