Command Tooling Systems Announces Presetting Solutions for Precision Machining

Ramsey, MN-June 13, 2002--Command Tooling Systems' Presetters provide increased productivity and streamlined set-ups for precision machining. Command(TM) Presetters make presetting boring and milling tools quick and easy with intuitive controls and software. The ergonomic design of Command's Presetters also contributes to ease of operation. Presetting off-line with these units - rather than in the machining center - optimizes machining center capacity. In addition, presetting increases accuracy, optimizes part quality, and maximizes tool performance and life.

Customers can choose from a variety of models to fit specific applications. All Command Presetters display diameter or radius in inch or metric units. Absolute or incremental measurements can be made and data can be transferred in ASCII format. All models feature a standard 50 taper spindle housed by a precision bearing. Presetter adaptor sleeves are available to hold smaller tapers.

Vision and Focus models come with platform cube sizes from 14 x 9" to 18 x 14" (L x D). They are constructed with sealed glass linear measuring scales, hardened steel rails and recirculating ball bearings. Convenient, one-hand-operated pneumatic release of axes offers quick rough adjustment while hand wheels provide quick, accurate fine adjustment. LCD and LED controls are available with resolution down to .00005" (.001 mm) and various software features including reference point storage, and tool data set storage.

Vision Presetters feature CCD camera optics with magnification up to 20 X. CCD camera optics come with automatic cross-hair edge location, and automatic tool radius and angle measurement. Focus Presetters have optical profile projection imaging with fixed and rotating cross-hair edge location, and projection comparison for tool radius and angle measurement.

Urma Digiset 2(TM) platform cube size is 15.75 x 12" (L x D). It is made with capacitance scales, and hardened steel and track roller bearings for precision and reliability. It features actual height and diameter or radius displays plus the flexibility to move both axes simultaneously or to lock each independently.
