New Protec(TM) Prefilter Combines Benefits of Membrane and Depth Filters
Meissner's new dual layer Protec(TM) RM0.5 is designed with an outer layer of glass fiber and an inner layer of hydrophilic PVDF membrane. This design combines the excellent flow rates and high dirt-holding capacity of a glass medium with the precise particle retention of a membrane filter.
The 0.5 µm-rated Protec(TM) prefilter removes particulates and reduces bioburden in biological liquids to protect downstream sterile filters. The filter is optimized for the clarification and prefiltration of serum, plasma, tissue and cell culture media, protein solutions, fermentation media and feeds and other viscous biological solutions.
All components of the Protec(TM) RM0.5 filter cartridge are FDA listed for food contact use in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Title 21. Protec(TM) filter cartridges are cleanroom manufactured.
