Trus Joist Introduces Easy to Install TJ®-Shear Panel
BOISE, Idaho (May 1,2002)-Trus Joist introduces the TJ®-Shear Panel, an easy to install prefabricated shearwall accepted by ICBO (ES PFC 5929). Designed for narrow aspect ratio applications in seismic regions, the new TJ®-Shear Panel delivers enhanced performance compared to highly variable site-built alternatives.
Strong, stiff and ductile, its concentric design, combined with the properties of TimberStrand® LSL result in consistent, predictable performance. TimberStrand® LSL is a high-tech, proprietary process that relies on small-diameter, fast-growing trees that usually have limited value in structural applications. This manufacturing technique converts as much as 75 percent of each log into high-value engineered lumber - a highly resource-efficient approach - creating a structural product that is strong, straight and consistent.
The building industry has been especially impressed with the TJ®-Shear Panel's ease of installation.
