Predictive Maintenance System utilizes infrared technology.

Press Release Summary:

ExerTherm® Predictive Maintenance System utilizes plastic, non-contact IR sensors, which require no power and can be placed inside switchgear enclosures to directly monitor any component. System monitors temperature 24/7. Readings are data logged, and on-going trend analysis identifies potential problems. Further protection is provided via 2 alarm levels per channel, which activate if defined temperature levels are exceeded.

ExerTherm® Predictive Maintenance Detects Problems Before They Happen

ExerTherm® is a Predictive Maintenance System for electrical switchgear and key plant such as; motors, pumps, bearings, gearboxes etc, developed between Boston based Exergen Corp and QHi Infrared.

It utilises new infrared technology to provide small plastic non contact IR sensors, which require no power. This enables them to be placed INSIDE switchgear enclosures, to directly monitor any component, irrespective of location (which cannot be achieved by thermal imaging).

In addition, ExerTherm is continuously, monitors temperature 24 / 7. Readings are data logged and on-going trend analysis identifies potential problems at an early stage of development. This is a significant improvement on periodic thermal inspections, which cannot provide trend analysis and require an element of luck to detect problems before they fail. ExerTherm provides further protection via 2 alarm levels per channel which activate if defined temperature levels are exceeded.

ExerTherm provides the level of predictive protection increasingly required by Companies who suffer potential serious loss in the event of power or key plant failures. Already installed in numerous blue chip organizations in Financial Services, Telecoms, Media, Manufacturing, Shipping, etc
