Precision Slide Table features repeatability of 0.03 mm.

Press Release Summary:

With 2-cylinder piston-rod design, Series P5S-P slide table consists of pneumatically actuated carriage table riding on 4 sets of stainless steel recirculating ball-bearing units on 2 guide rails. Tables can be mounted together to provide X-Y-Z, X-Z, or Y-Z axes movement. Stroke adjustment adds to machine precision, as does mid-position stop (MPS), which stops carriage anywhere along stroke of slide and provides fine adjustment in both directions.

New Precision Slide Table from Parker Hannifin

Wadsworth, Ohio, October 22, 2004 -- Parker Hannifin's Actuator Division has introduced its new line of P5S-P Series Precision Slide Tables designed for a wide range of applications where quick, precise movement and positioning of loads is critical.

P5S-P Precision Slide Tables consist of a pneumatically actuated carriage table riding on four sets of stainless steel recirculating ball-bearing units on two guide rails. Its dual-cylinder piston-rod design provides maximum force output while limiting overall size. Precision Slide Tables can be mounted together to provide precise X-Y-Z axes movement or X-Z or Y-Z axes pick-and-place movement. Mounting kits provide for mounting the Precision Slide Table on four sides and in conjunction with other Parker products.

The P5S-P Series is available in four cylinder-bore sizes - 12, 16, 20, and 25 mm - providing strokes ranging from 10 to 250 mm and theoretical thrusts ranging from 130 N extension, 100 N retraction (12-mm size) to 560 N extension, 430 N retraction (25-mm size) at 6-bar pressure. Repeatability of all units is 0.03 mm.

Internal bumpers reduce noise and provide end-of-stroke adjustment, and hydraulic shock absorbers are available for high-inertial-load applications. External bumpers and shock absorbers are an option.

Slide-table stroke adjustment provides precise end-of-stroke positioning. The front stop can be moved in increments for additional adjustment. Internal and external stops and shock absorbers provide additional rear and front fine stroke adjustment.

A mid-position stop (MPS) stops the carriage anywhere along the stroke of the slide and provides fine adjustment in both directions, stopping at the same point from either the extend or retract position.

A stroke-lock option locks the movement of the carriage in the event of loss of air pressure. This is particularly advantageous when a slide table is vertically mounted.

Reed switches or solid-state sensors, mounted in two integral sensor grooves on each side of the table body, provide accurate position sensing anywhere along the stroke of the slide table.

Mounting kits allow mounting through the top of the body, on the Precision Slide Table, or through the bottom of the body to a dovetail mounting plate (optional on size 12; standard on sizes 16, 20, and 25).
