INTERROLL PROVIDES HIGH PRECISION ROLLERS FOR HEAVY-DUTY APPLICATIONS

WILMINGTON, N.C. (January 25, 2002) -Interroll Corp. announces the availability of high precision rollers for accuracy in heavy-duty conveyor applications. Designated the 1800 Series, the rollers are available in various tube diameters and shaft
configurations to meet specific application requirements.

Designed for ultra-quiet operations, the rollers are ideal for long-term running parts handling equipment, guided vehicles (AGVs), transfer machines, high speed packaging lines and belt conveyors.

"Interroll takes great care in manufacturing these precision rollers. For example, the use of drawn-over-mandrel (DOM) tubing ensures excellent balance and strength, ideal for high-speed applications," said conveyor component product manager, Kim Hagan.

All 1800 Series precision rollers incorporate shielded, deep-groove precision bearings constructed of ground chrome alloy steel and equipped with an external dirtguard to protect against outside contaminants. The bearings are contained in iron housings
providing a tight fitting casing that ensures concentricity. In addition, bowed retaining rings are installed on both ends of the shaft in order to eliminate axial play.

Tube diameters are available in 2.00", 2.50", 3.00" and 3.50" versions. All tubes are end-bored for optimal fit. DOM tubing is recommended for high-speed applications, while cost-effective welded tubing is available for uses up to 500rpm. DOM tubing is
ideal for accommodating special applications such as drive capabilities where sprockets or timing belt pulleys need to be welded on to the rollers.

Interroll offers spring-loaded hexogonal shafts for quick mounting. For increased precision applications, round shafts constructed of cold drawn steel and precision ground bearing seats are available.

A world leader in materials handling technology, Interroll manufactures a broad range of high-quality innovative conveyor components. Products include a wide variety of rollers, DC-powered roller drives, and AC-powered belt drives.
