Precision Rail-to-Rail Op Amp Draws only 150uA Supply Current

MILPITAS, CA - July 7, 2003 - Linear Technology Corporation announces the LT6011, a dual micropower precision rail-to-rail output op amp. The LT6011 combines exceptional input precision with micropower consumption. This unique combination of features makes the LT6011 ideal for use in low power instrumentation applications.

Operating on less than 150uA supply current, the LT6011 boasts input offset voltage below 75uV, input bias current less than 0.9nA and low noise voltage density of 14nV/ÖHz. The minimum open loop gain of 120dB ensures excellent gain linearity while a CMRR of over 115dB reduces errors due to common mode signals. The low input offset voltage drift of 0.8uV/°C and long-term stability of 0.4uV/month guarantee high accuracy over temperature and time.

"The LT6011 achieves a high level of DC precision on one-third the supply current of its closest competitors," said design manager, Bill Jett. "With the LT6011, designers of portable instrumentation can benefit from improved system precision while significantly reducing power consumption."

The device also offers excellent amplifier matching between channels on all critical parameters including input offset voltage, input bias current, common mode rejection ratio and power supply rejection ratio. The matching specifications are important for applications such as multiple gain blocks, instrumentation amplifiers and low noise active filters.

The LT6011 is capable of operation from 2.7V to 36V supplies. It is offered in the 8-pin SOIC and space saving 3mm x 3mm DFN packages. The device is fully specified for operation over commercial and industrial temperature ranges. Pricing starts at $1.95 each in 1000-piece quantities.
