Precision Medical Products, Inc. (PMP) Purchases New Laser Cutter to Enhance Capabilities of Producing Complex Needles
PMP continues to add new state of the art equipment to its technology portfolio. The company recently purchased a new Rofin Fiber Laser Cutting System to further expand on their existing needle grinding, welding, marking and finishing capabilities. The "StartFiber" Laser Cutting system is specifically designed for cutting 2D and 3D geometries of steel tubing and sheets. This technology allows laser cutting to be performed "where complex contours demand precise, fast and force-free processing" which is typically required for high-tech medical devices. This laser process allows radial and non-radial cuts on tubing. The laser cutting process produces device edges with almost no burrs, edge hardening or tapering. This clean cut combined with the company's post processing expertise yields a highly finished medical device component.
