ANNANDALE, N.J., December 10, 2003 - Ingersoll-Rand Assembly Solutions, a business unit of Ingersoll-Rand Company Limited, has introduced a new line of DC electric precision assembly tools as well as a new range of Insight(TM) torque management controllers for the automotive, appliance, aerospace and electronics industries. The new product is one component of IR Assembly Solutions' expanded "Productivity Beyond Product" offering that includes consulting, products, integration, and service.
The new IR QE Series of tools provide torque coverage from 1 to 400 Nm, with custom versions extending well beyond this range. The tools incorporate extensive user-oriented ergonomic designs and convenience features in smaller, lighter packages.
The tools' redesigned motors employ resolver-based commutation, sine drive and other advanced technologies that offer best-in-class operating speeds and control. The QE Series platform consists of angle, inline and custom configurations including crow's foot, offset head, and hold-and-drive outputs. The new Insight torque management controllers include enhanced features such as digital communication links, tool recognition, and advanced algorithms and torque strategies that optimize the performance of the new QE Series tools.
