Precise Power Corporation Debuts World's First 100HP Single-Phase Motor

Bradenton, Fla. - Precise Power Corporation, PPC, announces the development of its new 100hp single-phase motor, the most powerful of its kind in the world. This is the company's latest enhancement to its cost effective Written-Pole® technology product line, previously topped at 75hp.
In early 2004, PPC began development of this motor in response to requests from farmers, and light manufacturers in need of even more power. Like all of PPC's single-phase motors, the new 100hp version prevents users with larger horsepower requirements from having to run three-phase line extensions or use internal combustion engines. Plus, Written-Pole® products are extremely "utility friendly" with low starting current, high efficiency, unity power factor, and the ability to operate on existing single-phase lines, cost effectively powering loads where other options would be much more expensive or not even feasible.
"Use of our new 100hp single-phase motor would eliminate the need for a three-phase line, which costs approximately $50,000 to $100,000 per mile," said Dan Slottke, spokesperson for PPC. "And because of all the requests for more power, we knew if we could get to this higher horse-power, it would fulfill a need to help the rural community decrease their dependence on gas or diesel run equipment. Additional savings are achieved by eliminating the need for phase-converters for large horse-power loads."
