Pre-Driver ICs drive external N-Channel MOSFETs.
Press Release Summary:
Pre-Driver IC Family fills need for driving either DC brush or DC brushless motors in systems with motor supply voltages as low as 7 V and as high as 60 V. Wide operating temperature range, fault diagnostics and reporting, and operation over wide supply voltage make family suited for harsh automotive environment. Each is offered in various options of surface mount packages, including low profile and thermally efficient e-LQFP and e-TSSOP packages.

A key target market for these pre-driver ICs is the automotive market. Important features such as wide operating temperature range, fault diagnostics and reporting, and operation over a wide supply voltage range make the Allegro product family an excellent fit for the harsh automotive environment. In addition, several of the ICs are designed to fully operate up to 60V allowing use in next generation automotive 42V systems.
The Allegro pre-driver family is manufactured using Allegro's ABCD3 (Allegro Bipolar CMOS DMOS 3rd generation) process. Each IC is offered in various options of surface mount packages, including some in low profile and thermally efficient e-LQFP and e-TSSOP packages.
