Pratt & Whitney to Provide PurePower® PW1500G Engines on up to 30 Bombardier CSeries Aircraft for Korean Air
PARIS - PARIS AIR SHOW - Pratt & Whitney will power up to 30 Bombardier CSeries® aircraft based on a Letter of Intent (LOI) signed by Korean Air. The LOI covers 10 firm and 10 option aircraft, as well as purchase rights for an additional 10. Up to 60 PW1500G series engines and two spare engines would power the aircraft. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

Each Bombardier CSeries aircraft is powered by two PurePower PW1500G series engines. The PurePower PW1000G series engines use an advanced gear system allowing the engine's fan to operate at a different speed than the low-pressure compressor and turbine. The combination of the gear system and an all-new advanced core deliver double-digit improvements in fuel efficiency, environmental emissions and noise.
