CTIA WIRELESS 2007, ORLANDO, Fla., Booth #2163, March 27, 2007 - Powerwave Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:PWAV), a global source for end-to-end wireless infrastructure solutions, announced that its high power Wideband Radio Head (WRH) now offers support for the Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) band, today at CTIA Wireless 2007, the industry's premier wireless conference and exhibition.
Designated WRH-V, the high power Wideband Radio Head is a combination of Powerwave's highly reliable Wideband Radio Head architecture and advanced multi-carrier power amplifier (MCPA) technology. Providing ultra linear high power operation for both indoor and outdoor distributed antenna systems (DAS), the WRH-V can house up to two high-power MCPAs, enabling network operators to support a coverage area with fewer WRH-V units, when compared to using standard power Wideband Radio Heads.
Powerwave's WRH-V AWS band products are available in single- or dual-band packages. Additionally, a door upgrade package supports the addition of 20W AWS band service for existing single band WRH-V or dual band WRH units through a simple swap of door sections.

The WRH-V Wideband Radio Head offers 43 dBm (20W) power output in the downlink direction; 240W total power consumption per band; is protected from dust and water by an IP65 rated enclosure. Powerwave's WRH-V AWS band product will be available in Q3 2007.
