New Chassis-Mount 6.0 VA Power Transformers for Domestic & International Information Technology (I.T.) and Medical Applications
A new series of International Chassis-Mount Power Transformers has been introduced by Prem Magnetics, Inc. The SPWC-4500 Series has 0.187" quick connect terminals. Tested by TUV Rheinland, recognitions include certification(s) to UL1585 Class 2 & 3, UL60950/CAN CSA-22.2 No. 60950, and EN60950 standards. Additionally, this series was evaluated for construction only to the UL60601 (EN60601) standard which pertains to medical equipment.
All units within this series have dual winding primaries and secondaries allowing for an input voltage of 115/230 Volts 50/60 Hz and output voltages ranging form 5.0 VAC to 120 VAC at 6.0 VA. The UL 94V0 split-section bobbin and shroud assembly meets the strict creepage and clearance distance minimums found in Europe and other world markets while providing a 4,500 VRMS HIPOT rating from primaries to secondaries.
As with all of Prem's standard power transformers, this new series incorporates independently isolated windings, lead breakout isolation tapes, and Prem's epoxy resin impregnation system. Package dimensions for the SPWC-4500 series are 1.800" (45.72 mm) L x 1.740" (44.20 mm) W x 1.665" (42.29 mm) H. Mounting holes in the attached mounting plate are 1.718" (43.64 mm) on centers having 0.187" (4.75 mm) diameter holes. The major dimension across the mounting plate is 2.0" (50.80mm).
All Prem standard transformers are 100% final tested for induced voltage (shorted turns), exciting current, open circuit voltage (turns ratio), polarity (phasing), and dielectric strength. The pricing for the new SPWC-4500 series is as low as $5.09 each in production quantities.
