New Power Supply from Omron Provides Predictive Maintenance
SCHAUMBURG, IL (February 13, 2003)-Omron's S8VS switch mode power supply provides predictive maintenance, which enables cost savings. The S8VS features a 3-digit, 7 segment LED display that displays a lifetime monitor and a run-time monitor. The lifetime monitor shows an estimate of the power supply's remaining service life in years, thus eliminating downtime. The run-time monitor displays how long a load has been operating, therefore the networked power supply can indicate to another device to take corrective action.
In addition, the S8VS features overload and overvoltage protection. For increased safety, the overload protection function allows the power supply to shutdown automatically if the outputs are shorted or if there is excessive current flow in the output. The overvoltage protection feature protects the power supply if there is an increase in the output voltage. For safety purposes, the power supply will automatically shut off the output.
The S8VS is available in 60W, 90W, 120W and 240W versions. The 60W version offers the industry's smallest width of 40mm.
