Power Supplies suit advanced door control applications.

Press Release Summary:

Series 4200 power supplies incorporate twin, switched and continuous 12/24 Vdc outputs into 1 unit. With 2 DC outputs, 1 output provides continuous DC power while other output provides switched DC power that can be controlled by fire alarm. Products are offered in 2 models: 4202 Power Supply with 2 A output, and 4204 Power Supply with 4 A output. Units operate at exact voltage required, even when loaded beyond max rated output.

Dortronics Introduces Power Supplies with Dual Outputs for Advanced Door Control Applications

Provides Continuous DC Power & Switched DC Power To Code.

Las Vegas, NV (March 26, 2003) - Dortronics Systems, Inc. has introduced power supplies with twin, switched and continuous DC outputs. The new 4200 Series Power Supplies feature two DC outputs - 12 or 24 volt as selected. One output provides continuous DC power while the second output provides switched DC power that can be controlled by a fire alarm. This single configuration allows access control and alarm devices to function while power is turned off to electromagnetic locks, as required by code.

"We designed our new power supplies with input from security professionals across the country who need both continuous and switched DC power for door entry systems that employ electromagnetic locks," said John FitzPatrick, Vice President, Dortronics Systems, Inc. "Dortronics new 4200 Series Power Supplies offers installers a cost-effective solution by incorporating both continuous and switched 12 and/or 24 volt power sources into a single unit."

Dortronics' new 4200 Series Power Supplies are available in two models: the 4202 Power Supply features a 2 amp output designed for single and double electronic door lock installations. The 4204 Power Supply offers a 4 amp output for installations with multiple door locks and additional security devices. Both units offer field selectable 12 or 24 VDC output for use with any electronic security device.

Both units feature twin DC power outputs. This provides continuous 12 or 24 VDC power for card access controllers or alarm monitoring devices, and switched DC power that is controlled by the fire alarm system to open electromagnetic locks. This is required by code in most areas.

Unlike many power supplies, Dortronics' 4200 Series operate at the exact voltage required even when loaded beyond their maximum rated output. As a result, the units will not suffer from voltage drops or fail to maintain current output during "brown outs", as is typical of most power supplies on the market. The units are also designed for quick and easy installation by incorporating a power cutoff switch that allows safe connection of field wiring, even with 110 VAC connected.

Additional features include: total electrical protection with fused 110 VAC and DC circuits; a built-in charging circuit to maintain optimum battery power; and LED indicators to provide visual confirmation of power and battery status. The units are supplied with 11-½" x 15" enclosures.

A variety of options are available for the 4200 Series Power Supplies, including: Rechargeable batteries for back-up power; a cabinet lock to prevent unauthorized access; a remote LED display to indicate AC failure, low battery and DC output failure; an alarm output to monitor power and batteries off-line; and a fire alarm reset to prevent doors from re-locking once the alarm signal is restored.
