Power Supplies provide 24 Vdc.
Press Release Summary:
Cutler-Hammer IT models operate from 100 to 480 V at 1 to 40 A. Power supplies offer high outrush capacity of more than five times steady state current to close dc contactors and provide power for starting up communication networks and large capacity systems. Long ride through capabilities keep power flowing after voltage has dropped and allows power supplies to ride through power dips and blackouts.

Eaton Corporation Introduces Its Cutler-Hammer Intelligent Technologies (IT.) Power Supplies
--Safe and reliable power for power control solutions --
PITTSBURGH, PA. Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation introduces the Cutler-Hammer IT. Power Supplies. An extension of the Cutler-Hammer IT. 24V DC control product line, the new power supplies allow OEMs to provide a reliable 24V DC control voltage and are designed to meet specific application requirements, including: high outrush capacity, high input voltage, long ride through capabilities, and flexible mounting.
In 1999, Eaton introduced the IT. Soft Starter, its first product in the Cutler-Hammer brand 24V DC control line. The soft starter, featuring many of the same design and safety benefits, has received universal acceptance, and enjoyed a 400% increase in market share.
"The use of 24V DC gets down to three issues, operator safety, reliability, and standardization," said Matt Polk, product line manager for Eaton's Cutler-Hammer business. "These power supplies address those issues and also provide OEMs a great deal of flexibility in designing and building MCCs and other motor control systems."
Control via 24V DC is reliable, inexpensive, globally accepted, and offers operator safety advantages. The use of solid-state DC power reduces PLC output card costs, increases output card reliability, and simplifies compliance with CE marking requirements and safety standards. The 24V DC control also protects motor control systems and data in sensing and SCADA systems through voltage sags, preventing unwanted resets resulting in maximum uptime.
To operate off the main line and limit the engineering needed, Eaton has designed the IT. Power Supplies to operate from 100 to 480V at 1 to 40A. Additionally, the power supplies offer high outrush capacity of more than five times steady state current to close DC contactors and provide power for starting up communication networks and large capacity systems.
In addition, the IT. Power Supplies possess long ride through capabilities, which keep the power flowing after the voltage has dropped and allows the power supplies to ride through power dips and blackouts.
